JDS leader HD Revanna bail was granted in the first FIR registered against him in Holenarasipura case of sexual abuse. He was earlier granted interim bail in the case by a court in Bengaluru till May 17.

Revanna was released from Parappana Agrahara jail after being granted conditional bail by a special court of people’s representatives in a woman kidnapping case related to sexual abuse allegations against his son and MP Hassan. Prajwal Revanna.

While speaking to media reporters, Revanna refused to comment on the matter and said, “I don’t want to say anything more at this point if the matter goes to court.”

Speaking to media personnel, Revanna said, “I respect the judiciary. I have faith in God. In 40 years of my political career, this is the first case against me. I will abide by the courts. I do not want to do that. say a little more at this point, when the matter is in court.”

Revanna was earlier remanded to police custody till May 14 after the court rejected his bail plea in the Mysuru kidnap case related to the Hassan sex tape scandal.

Revanna was taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 4 after the son of a former domestic help of Revanna filed a complaint stating that she was kidnapped from her residence by an aide of the JDS leader.

The complainant stated that Revanna’s aide Sathish Babanna had kidnapped his mother, a 60-year-old woman who had accused Revanna’s son Prajwal of sexually abusing her.

According to the complaint, Babanna was allegedly abducted from her home on April 29 and has not been seen or heard from since then. Revanna was charged under sections 364(a) (kidnapping for ransom, etc.), 365 (kidnapping or kidnapping with intent to secretly and falsely confine a person) and 34 (acts committed by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

However, more than five days after her abduction, the woman was found at the farmhouse of Rajshekar, Revanna’s personal assistant, in Mysuru’s Kalenahalli village, with Revanna denied anticipatory bail hours later.

Revanna’s son, Prajwal, remains ‘missing’ and reports suggest that the Hassan MP and grandson of former Prime Minister HD Devegowda is in hiding in Germany.
